MORTAL SHELL UPDATE PATCH
This update brings in new Rotten Autumn and more, as mentioned in the patch notes. Mortal Shell is out on August 18 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Designed and developed by 0x199 with thanks to aerosoul for PHPSfo. Mortal Shell is a deep action-RPG that tests your sanity and resilience in a shattered world. Still, for many PS Plus subscribers, it's much better than nothing.

Sure, it's not permanent - once Mortal Shell inevitably leaves PS Plus Extra, the loophole closes and you'll be left having to pony up for the upgrade once again. Now with the soulslike hitting PS Plus Extra, however subscribers who decided to pony up for the more expensive Extra or Premium tiers can finally tap into the PS5 version of Mortal Shell. In fact, Mortal Shell is one of the few remaining hold-outs that hasn't offered a free PS5 upgrade to those who claimed a copy via PS Plus in 2021. It's an issue unique to PlayStation as a platform, as a copy of a game on Xbox or Steam will not be segregated into separate purchases per console like this, and we're happy to see big PS Plus games like Final Fantasy VII Remake, What Remains of Edith Finch, and Outer Wilds all working to offer free PS5 upgrades to subscribers.

Mortal Shell free PS5 upgrade loophole available for a limited timeWhile Mortal Shell offers a free PS5 upgrade to any player who purchased the game outright on PS4, anyone who claimed the PS4 version of Mortal Shell on PlayStation Plus was denied a PS5 upgrade - instead being offered to pay an upgrade fee of £24.99/$29.99. On March 4th, Mortal Shell was upgraded for next-generation consoles, offering gamers 60 FPS gameplay, 4K resolutions, higher quality textures and significantly faster loading times. The Mortal Shell PS Plus collab continues. Mortal Shells next PC update will push the game beyond next-gen, enabling features that are not present within the games PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions.
